KidSport’s mission is to support children who need financial assistance with sport registration fees and equipment costs. But having played various sports as a kid, most of my future leadership and team skills came from playing sports. Whether you were losing or winning, how you played sports and what you gave back showed your character and what you believed in. The time has never been greater to help Calgary’s community needs. Sport participation can have a huge impact on our children’s social, mental and physical well-being. That’s why I support KidSport!

Our Calgary Flames Alumni has supported KidSport from Day 1 and we are all big believers in giving kids the opportunity to play all sports. When I heard about the Sneakers and Dreamers Gala, I thought it would be a great way to continue our Alumni’s involvement with KidSport Calgary and help raise more money so more kids could play.

I believe in creating opportunities for children to experience the lifelong benefits of sport, helping to develop not just healthy kids, but healthy, resilient adults."

Angela's passion for sports began in Bow Island, where she grew up playing basketball at a highly competitive level. This lifelong love for sports has deeply influenced her personal and professional life. Now, as a dedicated wife and mother of two amazing children, Angela's commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in sports is stronger than ever.

Her involvement with KidsSport Calgary is driven by her belief in the transformative power of sports. Angela understands firsthand how sports can shape a child's character, instill valuable life skills, and foster a sense of community. She is inspired by the mission of KidsSport Calgary to remove financial barriers and ensure that no child misses out on the chance to play sports.

For Angela, being part of the board of directors at KidsSport Calgary is more than just a role; it's a passion and a commitment. She is dedicated to making a positive impact on children's lives, helping them grow into confident, healthy, and well-rounded individuals. Her own children are her greatest motivation, and she strives to create a world where every child can experience the joy and benefits of sports.

Patricia wants all kids to have the same opportunity that she had growing up: to participate in sports! In small town Quebec, Patricia’s childhood was consumed with activities: figure skating, equestrian, ballet jazz, soccer, you name it… In high school, Patricia fell in love with rugby, which she still plays to this day! She’s also had years-long stints “dabbling” in tackle football and Australian rules football. Patricia has no doubt that everything she’s learned about life and how to interact with others – both on and off the field – has been through athletics. Patricia wholeheartedly supports KidSport Calgary as an Athletic Ambassador and Volunteer and wants every kid to have a chance to flourish through sport, like she has!
